The word Chef has become so deluded in the last half century. It seems that anyone working as a cook in any capacity today is allowed to refer to him or herself as Chef. For those that understand and have studied the culinary arts that is something to laugh about. Chef is a title that is earned through hard work and experience. So, what is a Chef and what is a Sous Chef? In this article I will explain this term and give my professional opinion of what a Chef is and what a Sous Chef is and what their responsibilities are in a professional kitchen.
